A prayer said every Mass, it is a mission statement of the Catholic church.  First drafted in 321AD to explain the what the Catholic Church believed and did not believe.  This statement lays our the who and what Catholics believe and a understanding of the why and underlying theology.

     The  course looks at the Nicene Creed  from a historical perspective but from a theological perspective.  Looking at different sections to understanding the mission of Church and can help us deepen our faith. 

     Through seeing these statement and relating them to the bible, both Old and New Testaments, we can the Church in a fuller way. We look four distinct sections God, Jesus, Holy Sprit and the Church.   We also look at how we can follow that pathway as well be grow in faith. 

    Many people have an impression of what they think the Catholic Church teaches.  Some of these are misinformed or completely false.  This course looks at the official mission staten of the Church.  The creed seeks to correct misconceptions  of the identity of the Trinitarian God and the belief of the Church.

     Through this course the student should get a greater understanding of the Creed and  the underlying theory behind the statements fo the Nicene Creed.
