his short lecture along art workshop focuses on the series ‘36 Views of Fuji’ by Katsushika Hokusai. All paintings in the series depict the sacred Mount Fuji, a symbol of eternity. Hokusai paints varying landscape at different times of the year and day. The artist himself considered this series to be the greatest of his creations, although he completed nearly 30,000 works throughout his life.
The greatest Japanese painter had about 30 pseudonyms, but the name that brought him worldwide fame, Hokusai, means “Obsessed with painting”.
